School field to be closed from 2nd August for up to 3 weeks

The school playing field will be closed from 2nd August 2021 for approximately 2-3 weeks whilst a multi use games area (MUGA) is constructed.

Update on the school field and play area

It has been agreed with the school that their field and play area will be closed to the public during the school week to help staff provide a safe environment for the keyworker pupils who attend school each day. The gates will be unlocked at 3:30pm on a Friday afternoon and will be open for everyone to use during the weekends.

The Parish Council requests that all users adhere to the following Government guidance:

  • Wash hands or apply hand sanitiser before and after using the play area.
  • Maintain social distancing within the play area, in accordance with the government's latest advice. If the play area is too busy for effective social distancing, please do not enter.

A great new addition to the school field.

Helmdon Primary School are delighted with our recent addition of 2 table tennis tables on the playing field. We hope that all members of the community will use the table tennis tables when the playing fields are open outside school hours . All you need to do is bring along your own table tennis bats and balls!

Mile A Day track now open

Mile A Day track now open

The all-weather running track on the field at Helmdon Primary School is now officially open. On Friday 16th the school held an opening ceremony and Fergus Scott, this year's winner of the Helmdon Hurler and a former pupil of the school ran the first mile, followed quickly afterwards by the entire school and children from Acorns Pre-school. Work on the Mile a Day track to commence Monday 22nd Oct - the playground and playing field will be closed for two weeks.

Helmdon Primary School are excited to confirm that contractors will begin installation of their Mile a Day track on Monday 22nd October.
