2 Commune will be performing essential maintenance on Tuesday, September 29th 2020. This will mean that this website won't be available most of the morning and possibly some of the afternoon. This work is necessary in order to increase the capacity and speed of servers.

Despite COVID 19 we are very much hoping to turn Helmdon into a Living Advent Calendar for the sixth time this year with windows throughout the village decorated and 'opened' each evening between 1 December and Christmas Eve. In light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic The Helmdon Hurler committee have been advised by England Athletics (event insurer) to seriously consider running this year's event. In such a dynamic and changing situation the committee have held this final decision until the last minute.

Every year Northamptonshire Libraries deliver the Summer Reading Challenge, which challenges children to read 6 books during the summer holidays. It has been proven that children who don't continue reading during the summer have a lower reading age when they return to school in September than that before the summer. It is with the greatest regret that we have decided to stop running trains for the public so sadly our open afternoons which we have been running for the last 20 years will come to and end.
