Auditions for the Bridge Players summer play will be taking place on Sunday 10th March 2019 at 7:30pm in The Reading Room. This year our plays are based on a war theme.

Blackpits are hosting a compost give-away day at Helmdon Compost Site on Saturday 20 April 2019. The compost will be available to collect between the hours of 08:00 – 12:00 only. Residents will be restricted to 5 bags/buckets each. No trailers will be allowed. Residents should bring their own bags/buckets and shovels for loading. The Great Weston Run returns on 6th May 2019 after last being run in 2014. It is run over 5 miles starting and finishing in Weston. The course is partly off road and on farm tracks which can be muddy. The course has inclines and hills.

We would like to remind residents to take extra care around the village at this time of year. Due to cold temperatures many paths become slippy. Parents walking to Acorns and the School with children along gravel path should take extra care in particular when approaching the road. Please make use of provided salt bins in the village.
