Bomb Disposal - A talk by Ian Jones - Wednesday 15 September 2021 - posted 03 September 2021
A fascinating speaker who has worked in bomb disposal with the army since 1982, then in the Counter Terrorism Command of the Metropolitan Police.
All are welcome.
June Meeting & News – posted 17 June 2018
It is that time of year for our summer party on this coming Wednesday 18 June. It is being hosted at Danielle Jackson's house this year.
There will be a wide selection of meats with lots of delicious salads and potatoes and many desserts.
Pimms, Soft drinks ,Wine, lager and beer
Gluten free and Vegetarian options can be available ( please let us know any dietary requirements)
Price £5 members and £8 guests
Please let me, Danielle or Sue know if you are able to come and if you are bringing a guest.
There will also be a Raffle on the night
Bottle Stall At The Church Fete 30 June
Firstly thank you to all of you who have already donated bottles for our bottle stall, but we are still considerably short of our last year target of bottles in bags. So if you haven't donated any bottles yet...it's not too late; please either bring to the summer party and Sue can take them from you or deliver direct to Sue.
Can you also let us know if you are able to help on the stall, either set up or to man the stand for an hour...thank you in advance.
July 18th Womens Club - A visit to Dawn Law's Sasha Doll Museum in West Farndon
Sasha dolls were created by the late Sasha Morgenthaler (1893 - 1975), a Swiss artist and artisan. She was also a humanitarian and a keen observer of all the world's children.
If you are planning on coming to this event please can you let me or Sue know so we can confirm numbers to Dawn and organise transport.

Changed Subject For May Meeting – posted 09 May 2018
We have had a change to our published topic this month.
I am delighted to say we have Danny Moody talking to us about Local Government Changes.
This promises to be a very interesting and important subject, particularly with all that is going on in South Northants.
Look forward to seeing many of you next Wednesday 16th May at 7.30 pm...please come along and support the evening.

BRING THOSE BOTTLES TO THE MEETING
I know this is a little early but we will be running our bottle stall again this year, however it is such an attraction we sell out very early on, so please can we ask now for you to start collecting bottles of alcohol, soft drinks, bubble bath, olive oil, or anything else that comes in a "bottle" as well as attractive bottle / gift bags.
We will be happy to take these off your hands and store them from this month on-wards. Obviously we will remind you in May and June...thank you in advance. WE DO NEED YOUR SUPPORT

Our topic this month is on the Importance of Good Mental Health and is given by David Loyd Hearn,The Transformation Manager for Northamptonshire.
He is dedicated to making a difference to our communities across health, social care, education, the voluntary sector and commerce.
This promises to be a very interesting and important subject.

Reading Room Survey / Open Morning

The Reading Room Management committee are keen to make sure that the Reading Room is used to the maximum and to that end would ask you to fill in the following survey which closes on 1st May. Responses are invited from young and old. This is your chance to mould the future of the Reading Room, your village hall, so please don't waste it.

However there are also hard copies available in the Reading room itself as well as the Church.
Open Morning
In addition we are opening the Reading Room this Saturday morning, 14th April between 9.30 am and Midday for those in the village who maybe unfamiliar with the venue. Please pass on this date to anyone you know that maybe interested in coming to look round.
There will be tea and coffee available.

March Is Quiz Night – posted 15 March 2018
Next Wednesday, 21st March at 7.30pm will see the return of Our Annual Quiz Night. Hosted by John Coatsworth.
Come along and exercise those little grey cells or just watch others doing it! Please bring a guest, the more the merrier.
Food will be available as usual, with a choice of Cottage Pie or Chilli. There will be wine and soft drinks
Please let me or Sue know if you are coming and your food preference so we don't over produce food.

Interesting Subject For February Meting– posted 10 February 2018
Our second meeting of 2018 promises to be really interesting and is on a subject a great many of us "put off"!.
Our Speaker this month is Timothy Williams
He is going to talk to us on all you need to know about Wills and Power of Attorney
"Timothy is very good at explaining the intricacies of the legal system where finance pertaining to death is involved."
I'm sure we will all learn a great deal... as it is such a general interest topic.

January Meeeting: How To Drive Safely – posted 10 January 2018
Our Speaker this month is Ken Merry from The Institute of Advanced Motoring (IAM).
He is going to talk to us briefly on IAM Road Smart & the Banbury Group and how to drive safely. Then there will be some video clips on how the police teach their drivers and explain the driving requirements of the IAM in a more visual form.
I'm sure we will all learn a great deal.
